A feeling is a feeling is a feeling

a feeling is a feeling is a feeling
sometimes a feeling isn't so appealing
at the time, the feeling may be rather intense
on second thought, complete and utter nonsense
a feeling may frighten
while another may brighten
one may bring about a headache or heartburn
not to mention, make the stomach churn
not dealing with a feeling; worse yet,  to avoid
can be as dangerous as taking an anabolic steroid
a feeling doesn't have to be justified
in order to be bona fide
it need not bring about guilt or shame
when in doubt, call upon the Father's name
a spiritual approach is a good start
to revive a  burdened and contrite heart

Isaiah 57:15-16
For this is what the high and lofty One says---
he who lives forever, whose name is holy:
"I live in a high and holy place,
but also with him who is contrite and lowly in spirit,
to revive the spirit of the lowly
and to revive the heart of the contrite.
I will not accuse forever,
nor will I always be angry,
for then the spirit of man would grow faint before me---
the breath of man that I have created."

  1. For sure! Much of the time when I have a feeling, it's fear - False Evidence Appearing Real. This verse from Isaiah 57 is a good reminder that feelings come from two different beings, and whom we choose to believe makes all the difference in our lives. I like the words you've to illustrate that the Father is always there for us.
