Rest For Your Souls - Matthew 11:28-30

(28) "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  (29) Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  (30) For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

Labor, service and submission to authority are represented by the use of the yoke.  Far too often, we submit to the authority of the devil and we carry around his yoke of guilt or worry rather than the yoke of Jesus.  We only need to come to him and allow him to remove the heavy yoke we have carried to the point of being bent over and sick from the weight of our burdens.
Even through times when our work is difficult and full of stress, we find rest through fellowship with Jesus.  Experience the sheer delight when the heavy weight is lifted from your shoulders allowing you to lie down and rest in peace.  The yoke of Christ is so light we hardly notice it is upon us.  Better to carry the yoke of Jesus than to stumble and fall on our faces from the weighty burdens of sin, guilt, unforgiveness, worry or doubt.
The sooner we learn what Jesus has done for us, the sooner we are able to rest in him.  Then our labor, service and submission to him becomes a joy rather than a chore to be endured.
Acknowledge what Jesus has done for you.  Lay down the heavy yoke.  Come.  Rest.  Lie down in peace.  When two are yoked together, the way is easier and the stress is lessened.   You don't have to carry the yoke alone, because Jesus is by your side helping you along the way.  It could be that you're wearing blinders and can't see him beside you.  Ask him to remove your blinders so you can fully know his presence is near.
In Christian love, Nan
