Perfect Peace - Philippians 4:4-9

Quote of the Day
"In spite of your difficult circumstances and regardless of how unsure the future might seem, your peace of mind will only be secured when you become still before the Lord in prayer.  Prayer and meditation, in conjunction with praise and thanksgiving, is the only infallible method to ensure that you will be able to accept and overcome life's challenges.  Do not rob yourself of this opportunity to find peace!"
taken from Promises From God When You Doubt (Compiled by Wilma Le Roux and Lynette Douglas-Designed by Christian Art Gifts

(4) Rejoice in the Lord always.  I will say it again;  Rejoice!   (5) Let your gentleness be evident to all.  The Lord is near.  (6) Do not be anxious  about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition,    with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.   (7) And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.    (8) Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is  pure, whatever is lovely,  whatever is admirable ---- think about such things.  (9) Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me ---- put it into practice.  And the God of peace will be with you.

It really comes down to conscious choices.  We will surely, at times, have negative thoughts, doubts, become discouraged, but it is what we choose to do with those thoughts that makes all the difference.  Our thoughts will either rob us of peace or bring about peace within our hearts and minds when we deliberately choose to let go of the negative thoughts and replace them immediately with positive ones.
We don't know the future, but God does.  Look up in your Bible, Jeremiah 29-11 and read what God says to us about our future.  Don't stop there.  Continue reading.  Become absorbed in God's Holy Word.  Meditate on his promises.  They are for you and me.
As a thief in the night, negative thoughts come unannounced.  When we practice self-discipline and make these conscious choices to move through, beyond, above, away from those things that would steal our joy and our peace, our peace and our joy return to us and we are restored.
The sooner we come to God and admit to him that we are not in control and allow his almighty hand in our lives, the sooner we experience peace.  We don't have to know everything before making decisions.  We just have to trust God to lead us, guide us and direct us in the way according to his will for us.
I surely am not a "know it all"; far from it. But, I know what I know.  I only speak of what I know; of what I am sure.  When I have a concern, I go to the one who helps me every time.  He never fails me.  Yes, there are times I have concerns, but I don't worry anymore.  There is no room for doubt in my life anymore.  I won't allow it.
Life is exciting!  Bring back the excitement by giving your life to God , by giving your worries, your doubts, your cares, your insecurities, your past, your present, your future to him!  Peace is as close as your next breath and your next thought! Peace be with you today and forevermore!  Love, Nan

No Room For Doubt
By: Nan Forehand

in my life, there's no room for doubt
my Savior, Jesus Christ, has ultimate clout
developing my faith has taken a lifetime
for years I was silent as a mime
buried so deep inside, words I couldn't express
life was a complete and utter mess
I've fought my battles, that's for sure
each time, I turned to Jesus, holy and pure
through all my trials, I've learned
embers of faith always burned
yes, faith - ultimate and absolute
stronger now - my thoughts, Satan can't pollute
I don't worry and doubt what God can do
with Him, nothing is impossible for me and you
through Him, I'm saved - of that, I truly believe
He gave me power to tell Satan to leave
God has given me a voice to speak
I'm here to encourage - at times, we're all weak
to doubt my God, I'm not inclined
I won't allow negative thoughts to linger in my mind
in my life, there's no room for doubt
all I have to do is tell Satan to get out
he's a thief, a liar and a mocker
from a worldly view, he's no debaucher
to God, I submit a prayer of supplication
lead, guide and direct our great nation
though Satan has his day
close to me he will not stay
Jesus is mine - He's my all in all
He catches me each time I start to fall
in my life, there's no room for doubt
Jesus, my Savior, has ultimate clout

  2. Nan, every part of this post is just what I needed. I'm stressing over something that's really not important. God has me in His hands, the thing that I'm upset about is really a minor concern. (I dropped my tv, the color is messed up, and now all the people on the edges are purple). I'm sure others would love to have such a silly concern. God bless me that I have a life. ;-)
